Kitchen Cleaning Tips

When your refrigerator needs cleaning

Routinely clean the refrigerator door gaskets by cleaning them with a soft clean cloth, warm water and a mild dish detergent. Dry with a clean, soft, towel. Pay close attention to the horizontal drawer or door gaskets at the bottom of the refrigerator as kitchen spills can splash there and hide. Sticky gaskets have an increased chance of tearing.

Important information to know about glass shelves and covers: Do not clean glass shelves or covers with warm water when they are cold. Shelves and covers may break if exposed to sudden temperature changes or impact, such as bumping. Glass shelves and covers are heavy. Use both hands when removing them to avoid dropping.

Remove any drawers or bins and wash them in the kitchen sink with dishwashing liquid and warm water. Wash the inside of the refrigerator with a clean sponge or dishcloth – don’t forget to wash the compartments on the door.
